Phylum Description-Chordata
The Phylum Chordata is defined by three main characteristics that all must have. These characteristics which all in this phylum must have are; a notochord, a tubular nerve cord above the notochord, and gill slits which lead into the pharynx .or anterior part of the digestive track. The notochord runs along the length of the animal and is composed of a gelatinous tissue and bound together by a tough membrane. The tubular nerve cord acts as the spinal cord in the human body.
